Our Client is a family owned and operated irrigation specialist servicing the South Island for nearly 3 decades! Their core business focuses on the design, installation, modification, and after sales servicing of centre pivot and lateral irrigators of all brands, as well as modification and retro-fitting of new technology to existing systems. Our Client's reputation for exceptional design and backup, results in continuous repeat work with a large and well maintained database of valued customers.

About the Role

Reporting into the Managing Director the General Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans and internal processes, leading the team, driving business growth, managing resources and optimising performance. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business strategies to enhance growth and profitability.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and high-quality service delivery.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 30 current staff, fostering a positive and results-oriented culture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Analyze market trends and adapt strategies to meet customer needs.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor and implement Health & Safety compliance and regulations

 

About You

You have 5+ years experience in an managerial role, preferably in irrigation or the agriculture sector. You hold a Masters Degree in Business Administrative Strategy's, Finance, Agriculture Engineering or related field.  You possess visionary leadership and are passionate in fostering innovation within your team and setting them up for success. You can adapt to market changes, conduct business in an ethical and responsible manner and have a strong ability to negotiate and build relationships. Proficient in project management, financial analysis and can identify opportunities to optimize financial performance, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiencies.

  • 5+ years experience in an managerial role
  • Masters Degree in Business Administrative Strategy's, Finance, Agriculture Engineering or related field
  • Industry knowledge of irrigation advantageous
