About the company and role:
You will be working for a new start-up in the Selwyn district in a totally different cheese industry that is dominated by cow and goat’s cheese. The start-up is a subsidiary of a parent company, which is supported by a number of other well-established businesses from different industries.
The duties for this full-time, year-round position include all processes related to the production and aging of cheese and maintenance of related paperwork for each batch. This position will work closely with a small team of people to execute daily operations of the production process, monitor, and maintain products in the ageing cellars, and coordinate packaging.
This position will spend a significant amount of time working independently but will also work as part of a team. Communication with other areas of the business is important. Attention to detail is very important in all areas of the position to ensure the safe production of cheese, adherence to recipes, noticing and responding to seasonal changes in milk, ageing environment variations, and the safe and effective operation of equipment.
Lead the production of all the cheeses in our repertoire
Develop new products and ranges.
Troubleshoot inconsistencies with the products as needed.
Maintain all required records, inventories, recipes, and data.
