Employers are really looking for minimum of one year's term and are always keen to have Kiwi people due to New Zealand's reputation as world leaders in dairying. Beef farmers will take on winter stockmen because the majority of the herds are housed in the winter. There is a big demand for lambing assistants and lambers during the spring, usually a 4 to 6 week contract.The majority of the jobs include accommodation in mobile homes, farm flats or they find somewhere local for you. Most farms will lend you a vehicle for your groceries - or a bike if you want to go to the pub!! You will get free or cheap accommodation, do lots of hours and although the pay is not brilliant, living is cheap and you will be able to save a good amount of money.Working on a farm is the best way to discover the real UK. Cities are the same the world over, but the countryside and its people varies enormously!
